Introduction to S-Box™

S-box consists of a 50-inch long, self-contained and fully assembled module that has an internal, non-woven, fabric-covered, plastic, cuspated core arranged in serpentine fashion. The module is supported by an external wire form that is left in place upon installation. After each module is placed in the excavation and the spaces between the fabric-covered cores are filled with sand (ASTM C-33 sand or approved equivalent).

S-Box units are available in two standard widths: 36 inches and 72 inches. The 36-inch wide product is placed in a 44-inch wide excavation and the 72-inch wide product is placed in an 80-inch wide excavation that is backfilled with sand after placement of the unit. All products are placed in a 2-inch deep bed of ASTM C-33 sand or equivalent. Effluent is distributed to the the fabric covered core by a 2-inch diameter plastic pipe that runs across the top of the module. Each module has two tees that deliver effluent directly into the fabric-covered core. The 36-inch wide products are supplied effluent via a single distribution pipe. The 72-inch wide products are supplied effluent via two parallel distribution pipes.
