Introduction to GeoU™

GeoMat edge U-Shape (GeoU) consist of a fused and entangled filament “mat” surrounded with geotextile fabric set on edge and arranged in a serpentine fashion. The mat consists of a highly transmissive core that is covered by a hygroscopic membrane. This combination of the core and membrane draw the water between the application points and uniformly apply the water to the surrounding soil. The soil then draws the water away from the surrounding membrane through capillary action. This results in a uniform application of water to the soil and minimizes the point loading associated with some other systems. An internal metal framework holds the serpentine arranged mat separation at 4 inches apart. Each unit can be placed end-to-end with other product units until the desired leaching row length is achieved. A 2-inch diameter pvc (Sch. 40 ASTM D-1785) distribution pipe Is laid along the center top edge of the serpentine arranged mat.
