HyAir™
Introduction to HyAir™
HyAir Pump Systems utilize a fiberglass vessel and air pressure for lifting and/or pressure distribution of wastewater; the system is installed downstream of the septic or treatment tank. HyAir pump systems are unique in that the pump is remotely located and does not directly contact wastewater. This provides for easier maintenance and servicing. When a dose of wastewater is accumulated, a level sensor is activated and the pump starts. If the water level in the vessel does not drop, an alarm will activate. The pump increases air pressure until it is sufficient to overcome the total dynamic head. After the dose of wastewater has passed to the leaching system, air flow purges the piping system of water: this, among other benefits, also prevents siphoning.
HyAir is available in four different sizes and all can be designed as standard or extended air systems. Standard systems aerate the leachfield after each dose, providing aeration without extra energy consumption. The extended air models are compatible with blowers that provide additional aeration which can provide waste strength reduction and extend the life of heavily used systems.
